SMM March 10 News: Silicon metal prices in east China remained stable. Non-oxygen above-standard #553 silicon was priced at 10,500-10,600 yuan/mt, while above-standard #553 silicon was at 10,600-10,700 yuan/mt. #421 silicon was priced at 11,300-11,500 yuan/mt. Today, prices for silicon (Si≥97%) began to soften and decline. Previously, suppliers of silicon (Si≥97%) had been firm on their quotations, but due to prolonged weak transactions and the recent continuous softening of silicon metal prices, factory quotations for silicon (Si≥97%) started to loosen. Currently, market prices for silicon (1.2%≤Fe<1.5%, Ca≤0.3%) are around 9,500-9,600 yuan/mt, and for silicon (1.5%≤Fe<1.8%, Ca≤0.5%) are around 9,400-9,500 yuan/mt, with average prices generally dropping by about 100 yuan. However, manufacturers reported that despite the price adjustments, actual transactions remain unsatisfactory, and new orders are still scarce.
